1. How does the push-to-talk work?

When you use the Callpod Dragon headset with the Phoenix, the Dragon's multifunction button turns into a push-to-talk function. The user does not need to hold down the button to talk. One press of the multifunction button activates the audio channel in everyone's headset for hands-free communication. Any user can turn off their audio link by tapping the multifunction button on their Dragon headset. Additionally all channels have noise gates which prevent low level noise from causing chatter and noise on the system.

2. What products are compatible with the Phoenix base unit?

Phoenix is compatible with Bluetooth®-enabled headsets, phones, PDAs, laptop computers and VOIP products.

3. What operating range can I expect?

The Phoenix base can transmit over 100 meters (328ft) in all directions. Most Bluetooth headsets on the market are limited to a 10-meter (33ft) range, so you are limited to the overall range of your headsets. However, when you use Phoenix with our Dragon Headset, you can achieve over 100-meter range between the Phoenix and headsets. The Dragon is included in the Mobile Communication System.

4. Is the Phoenix field-upgradable?

Yes, the Phoenix software can be upgraded with a standard mini-USB cable. We plan to offer customers the ability to control certain operational parameters via specific firmware versions. New firmware will be posted on the Support tab when available.

5. Can I daisy-chain multiple Phoenix base units together?

No, this is currently not supported.

6. Can I travel internationally with the Phoenix?

Phoenix base unit ships with U.S. plug, however it supports 120-240V. So simply change the prongs to use outside of the U.S.
